Our Morris Customer Service Area is in west central Minnesota. It includes the major towns of Appleton, Canby, Chokio, Dawson, Graceville, Hancock, Hendricks, Herman, Hoffman, Kensington, Kerkhoven, Lake Benton, Minneota, and Morris.
Morris is 165 miles northwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul and 100 miles southeast of Fargo/Moorhead. Three state and federal highways pass through Morris.
With an approximate population of 5,600, Morris is the Stevens county seat. It is a hub of agricultural research, information services, and trend-setting agribusiness.
The University of Minnesota, Morris, is an undergraduate liberal arts campus of the University of Minnesota. UMM is one of the nation's few public liberal arts colleges and is distinctive for its academic rigor.
The Morris area offers a variety of retail, manufacturing, agricultural, and service-related businesses. The cultural atmosphere is strengthened through community theater, band, and a thriving local artists' community. Several lakes in the area are managed to provide outstanding walleye fishing.
