Cost-of-energy adjustment

A variable charge added to or deducted from the bill each month, depending upon current fuel and purchased power costs. This charge is in addition to the rate schedules and is itemized separately on the electric service statement.

Customer Service Guarantee

Otter Tail Power Company will connect your service by the date promised, or we'll pay you $50 for each working day that we're late, up to $250. If we fail to repair your rental security light within five working days after you notify us, we'll provide one month of free electric service for that light. If your electric service statement is incorrect, we'll correct it and award you 10 percent of the error, with a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $500. (Does not apply to estimated or prorated bills or to self-read meters.)

Late-payment charge

Accounts paid late are subject to a late-payment charge of 1.5 percent of the unpaid balance plus a collection charge of $2.

NSF check charge

We'll charge $10 if your bank returns your check because of nonsufficient funds.

Reconnection fee

If Otter Tail Power Company disconnects your service for nonpayment, you must pay a reconnection fee of $15, plus applicable tax. In addition, w e'll charge for direct labor costs for overtime if we make the reconnection outside of regular working hours. We also may require a new deposit or assurance of payment.

Service connection fee

To cover the costs associated with establishing a new account, we add a $15 service connection fee, plus applicable tax, on your first electric service statement. This charge also applies to any name changes at existing points of service and to reconnection following temporary disconnection at the customer's request.
