Coal is used to generate most of Otter Tail Power Company's electricity. Renewables such as water, wind, and biomass are used to produce approximately 9 percent of the company's electricity. Most of the remaining energy is purchased from other suppliers. The new Langdon wind energy center came online January 12, 2008. With this addition, the renewable portion of our energy mix is projected to be approximately 13 percent in 2008. |
